Comments about Ibex Calais Bike Short:
You will love these shorts. I have had several pairs of these over the years, they are my favorites. Whether you hop on your bike to ride 60 miles in a summer afternoon, or if you just ride to work every day in the freezing rain, either way, they will be better to you than your own sister.

Comments about Ibex Calais Bike Short:
My first ever cycle short. So with not much else to compare it to, I found the shorts to be fairly high waisted (I have a short waist). The elastic band on the leg openings were great at staying put and are pretty snug. I was surprised after using them for a week long tour that the stitching on the bottom of the inseam started to fray. Other than that, the shorts were great, held up well, didn't stink, and remained cool and comfortable.

Comments about Ibex Calais Bike Short:
I wore these shorts on a long, hot bike ride across Vermont. Really comfortable and not too hot. They were a little baggy, and sometimes I felt like I was wearing a woolen diaper cover such as I used on my chldren when they were babies. On a tour, I like to wash out my bike clothes and wear again. these did not dry out well. Otherwise, incredibly comfortable. I always reach for them first.

Comments about Ibex Calais Bike Short:
I am new to cycling and have tried to commit to two long pedals a week (20 miles or so)- often a commute to or from work. I rode once this year with just plain old short and then bought the Calais shorts per a recommendation from a co-worker. What a huge difference! The pad adds a entire layer of comfort that is much needed - there is no chaffing, pilling, nor do they ride around - the fit is perfect. I have ridden in temps ranging from 40 to 80 degrees and have found them to be perfect, warm, breathable, cool. And like everything else in my life - I wash and I dry - and they still look great. Bonus - I look super cool in them!

Comments about Ibex Calais Bike Short:
Definitely like these over my spandex, but it is a little awkward off the bike, since the chamois is a little rigid. Perhaps it will become more flexible with age. Definitely slightly clammy chamois at the end of the ride. . .think I"ll try the wool undies combo. Slightly shorter than I usually wear (which is fine), and the back of the short comes up pretty high, which I've gotten used to and actually prefer now. And the elastic waistband is more forgiving, so I don't feel like it's accentuating the roll on the belly :)

Comments about Ibex Calais Bike Short:
Goodbye lycra bike shorts! These are so much better! I still have to roll up the elastic on the bottoms, which makes them much more comfortable on the legs. I think maybe the stitching holding on the chamois could be a little less rough, and that would be nicer. My only other thought would be to make the fabric thicker, but I do live in a colder environment. Maybe two different thicknesses? These shorts are totally amazing. I don't care how hot is is, these are the best choice. I did ride 15 miles in 90 degrees, which for me is excruciatingly hot, but these shorts were never a problem, kept right on being awesome, as well as excellent temperature regulation. I would suggest adding more layers as it gets colder than about 50 with these puppies, as they are thinner fabric than the 3/4 knickers.

Comments about Ibex Calais Bike Short:
The seam line at the front of the chamois hits my anatomy in the wrong place. It doesn't chafe - just isn't comfortable.
My legs are a little larger and the leg grippers hit my leg in the wrong place. They feel tight and a little restricting. I need a longer inseam (6-8")and then they would feel great. The length of my shorts tend to protect my leg from being cut by the cable support on the top tube of my bike.

Comments about Ibex Calais Bike Short:
These are very comfortable and don't itch--the pad is very good. They seem to perform equally well in warm or cool wet weather. The leg elastic is not too tight so you don't get that grabby feeling or bulge above or below the elastic (that's important to me).

Comments about Ibex Calais Bike Short:
Used these shorts for commuting all summer and intend to wear them all winter as well (under a shell). I'm commuting in these in Wisconsin which is humid in the summer and these babies breathe way better than my old spandex and smell better too!
Can't wait to ride into the fall and winter in them. The Chamois is slightly bulky when walking, but on the bike you don't notice it.
