Comments about Ibex Scout 1/2 Zip:
Some other reviewers questioned the sizing. I found it consistent with other Ibex products. I'm 6'1" 168 pounds and the Medium is ample without being at all baggy. Sleeves longish, but I like that about Ibex. Soft and warm fabric, nicely tailored, casually refined. I'm glad to own this one.

Looks stylish, very functional. My husband is a very practical dresser. He wears this all the time.

I bought this top for my boyfriend and he loves it. He has not had the privilege of owning any merino wool and did not know the merits of it until I got him a few things, and now he's hooked (uh oh). This shirt looks great on him and is his new favorite for going out, etc. (in fact, he likes it so much he hardly wears it, because he doesn't want to 'ruin' it, but I keep trying to tell him that that's the beauty of wool--it doesn't really wear out). He also wears it as a layer during winter activities like backcountry skiing and with how warm he gets it is all he needs under a shell. He is usually a medium but sometimes takes a large (5'10", 165 lbs), but the medium fits him perfectly.

I use this sweater for everything, it is the perfect weight for me since it isn't a thick, heavy sweater. I get too hot in those. It will be great on it's own for spring skiing, and it would be perfect for skinning up into the backcountry in search of fresh powder when it's colder out.

I have a number of Ibex products that I love. This one I like, but the sleeves are too long.

This has to be one of my very favorite layers for cool weather that I own. Bought the nice green color and liked it so much that I picked up one in black as well. It was great out of the box but a washing seems to have brought out the very best in it - soft, warm, and cozy. Not too heavy and not too light. The merino wool on this has a nice tight feel to it so you dont feel like its going to stretch or run. And the exterior of this is has an interesting texture. And finally, it is nice and soft and warm against the skin (I wear it with a short sleeved shirt underneath) and I wear it and wear it and wear it...

Comments about Ibex Scout 1/2 Zip:
Excellent garment in terms of look, feel and fit. Only caveat is that it's a bit scratchy around the inside of the collar, where the looped side of the fabric faces the skin. As such it may not be the best cold weather layering piece, since the collar of an insulated jacket will press the scratchy inside of the sweater's collar against your neck. As an outer garment on its own, however, or worn under a loose rainshell, it's more or less perfect.

OK here is my secret, and don't you frigging share it with anyone. I put on a pair of suspenders then I pop one of these sweaters on top and none the wiser. Fit and Trim I tell ya, and the girls seem to appreciate me a bit more too.

Comments about Ibex Scout 1/2 Zip:
I'm pretty trim (42 chest, 31 waist) and this sweater works well for me. Yeah, the fuzzy size is reverse of what an ideal insulator should be, but I don't think this piece was designed for arctic expeditions--more of a around town sweat-shirt that dresses up very nicely when you zip it all the way up (because of the evidently high quality fabric).
I own way too many Ibex pieces, but this is the one I wear the most...
