If you hate the feel of plastic (synthetic) shirts and don't want to use cotton either, then try this against your skin. It feels... very natural, not like a synthetic "wicking" shirt.

I used to wear the thermal woolies as summer tops, but they are tight and a touch airless for the purpose. These nelsons are superb--loose fit, airy, and a soft feel. I doubt they would stand up to rigorous chafing, such as continued use with a backpack, but for day hiking, and for casual wear, they are perfect.

I just got back from a one week trip on the coast and worn this shirt every nite. It is good looking and warm but never too warm.

The Nelson is a super-flexible shirt that is suited to a wide range of activities. The relaxed fit allowed me to wear a Medium comfortably (I normally wear a Large at 5'10", 165 lbs). This shirt gets a lot of use!

Love it! Have two short sleeve 17.5 shirts that are perfect. Great to add the long sleeve version. Wardrobe staple, to be sure, not just for on the bike.

I wear a Nelson LS shirt virtually every day of the week for work from Oct to April. I now own 9 of them and found that they modulate temperatures perfectly, never stink, are incredibly durable, comfortable and fit well. I wear them under scrubs, dress wool shirts, and around the house. I have no hesitation in providing my highest recommendation for this shirt.

I use my 2 Nelsons regularly. They are my go-to shirts. When they are both in the laundry, I'm at a loss. They move right back to the top of my everyday shirts as soon as they are available.

I love the 17.5. I would own many if they cost about half of their regular price. They would be perfect if they were tagless.
