Nothing's more comfortable than the skin you live in, but our Balance line of body-mapping first layers comes pretty close. Made from our exclusive, superfine 17.5 micron merino blended with a hint of Spandex, Balance T's, tanks and briefs are seamless and contoured to your body, no matter how you move or what you're doing. That means support, comfort and maximum breathability, kind of like... well, like a second skin.

Soft and light.

      Comments about Ibex Balance Briefs:

I use these (along with the Balance Boxer Short) for hiking skiing and traveling. Most comments will be the same as for the boxer short, with differences being that these wear a bit cooler and seem even more high-waisted (really they could be 5-7 cm shorter in the waist). They are easily washable in a sink on the road and wear well for longer than I should admit. Though a bit warmer than cotton underwear of a similar style they wear longer and easier and are much easier to wash and dry.

          Comments about Ibex Balance Briefs:

I've got a pair of Balance Boxers that I love. I bought the Large boxers because of so many comments that they run small. The large are silly big, but I roll down the waistline and they work fine for me.

Since some people said these briefs also run small, I went with the Large size. Opened the bag and they look like a child's size. Laying them flat on a table the waist is 11 1/2 inches wide. Yes they stretch, but what the hell? Measured the flat width of the boxer waistline--13 1/2 inches.

These are going back and they can eat the loss. My butt hangs out wearing them. They are practically a thong.

            Comments about Ibex Balance Briefs:

I commute via bicycle daily and these are perfect. They don't hold odor, they breathe, and they're relatively lightweight so they dry fast even under clothes. The sizing is a little weird on me, too—a large seems a tad too big and a medium, a tad too tight.

              Comments about Ibex Balance Briefs:

These briefs are the best I've ever had. I wish I knew about them earlier. They fit much better than cotton briefs, the waist band and everywhere else is more comfortable, they breathe and dry well, and they don't stink after being worn a few times, given the chance to air out. I wear them with my every day clothes often and also sometimes for my 11 mile one-way bicycle commute. They seem so lightweight I don't know if they will wear out soon, but so far I have had no problems. Looking forward to seeing how they perform in warmer weather. Even if you tend not to like briefs you might like these. I am not strictly a briefs guy. I usually wear boxers under wool trousers/slacks at work. I wear briefs under 501 jeans or other pants when I know I'm going to be walking around a lot. In the summer I often go without underwear.

              Comments about Ibex Balance Briefs:

I was one of the Original Roaster (no windfront panel) Brief's fans clamoring for a return of the Roaster (no windfront) Brief, and Ibex responded with the Balance Briefs. I got two for Christmas this year and I have to say this:I received Larges because my 33" waist says—according to activewear manufacturers—that's the size. The Original Roaster (no windfront) Briefs I own are all Mediums, and are a little snug. This is the dilemma posed by many companies these days, and certainly by my own size: what do I buy when I appear to be between sizes?I specify 'activewear' companies for this reason: they often equate their sizes to close-fitting specs; i.e., if one wears a Medium in casual wear, a Medium in activewear might be a snugger fit. Maybe not as snug as some reviewers are saying the Balance Briefs are, but snugger nonetheless.Just as with my Duo reviews—one Medium, one Large—I wonder what would have happened had I gotten these new briefs in Medium? The one Large I've claimed (you try 'em on they're yours) is slightly too big, but not so much to make them uncomfortable. In fact, they're very comfortable. As comfortable as my tried and true Original Roasters? Too soon to tell, but my ORBs are the most comfortable undies I've ever owned. The waistband on my Kelp-shaded Balance Briefs rolled down right out of the package, but after their first washing seem to do a little better. It would take a tight pair of pants for me to notice their rolled status, though, and only time will tell if this becomes an issue. On two wearings so far, it's not.Oh, and my new theme (I even blog about this): Merino wool is not just for cool weather. If the Original Roaster Briefs were absolutely comfy even in the Texas Summer days, then these Balance Briefs will do what good clothes do: they disappear when on and provide comfort you notice.

                  Comments about Ibex Balance Briefs:

A fine example of a modern American woolen brief (made in Turkey). The only improvements that could be made are:

                  1. Lower the rise. I want something with at least 1" less rise in size M.
                  2. Bottom panel should be doubled. Activities such as cycling will cause these single-ply briefs to wear out prematurely.

This is a quality product for sure. Just not quite (yet) perfect for my style and usage.
