Description, Tech Specs, Fabric & Source
Nothing's more comfortable than the skin you live in, but our Balance line of body-mapping first layers comes pretty close. Made from our exclusive, superfine 17.5 micron merino blended with a hint of Spandex, Balance T's, tanks and briefs are seamless and contoured to your body, no matter how you move or what you're doing. That means support, comfort and maximum breathability, kind of like... well, like a second skin.

Maximum comfort because it's sleeveless (obviously).

    Comments about Ibex Balance Tank:

First realize I love Ibex products but I think the seamless line has "issues" - My suggestion is to bring back the wooly tank and either redesign the seamless garments or drop seamless. I make seamless for a women's retailer and it is not easy to get it right - the garment fits each body differently depending on weight/proportion. My Balance tank chafes the underarm right where armpit and lat meet. The flat seams all come together at that point and make a less than flat spot that certainly rubbed me the wrong way. The armholes are too high and top extends out too far on the shoulder creating extra fabric that bunches right in the armpit. With time, salts and "other things" will disintegrate the wool - build in some room - knit the armholes bigger and shorten the distance on the shoulder from neck to edge of shirt. The cut of the wooly tank is just about perfect and the neckband allows me to not think about the neckband. I don't want to have any awareness of tighness on my neck at all. I don't feel breathless from the overtight neckband. The bottoms are ok but do not stay up when active so not sure they will function as my workout shorts. Perhaps with time.
Please bring back the wooly rib tank. I will buy three of them to this seamless item. I will give more break in time and if improvement happens, post it. I would only recommend to friend to try first before committing. Thank you.

      Comments about Ibex Balance Tank:

I bought this for my husband and the shirt would be great but the sizing is way off. He's a very fit size large, but even the XL was far too small in the neck and chest and we had to return it. Otherwise it seems like it would be a terrific shirt--but current sizing is only for very skinny guys.

This becomes my base layer as soon as the weather turns. I wear one a minimum of eight months a year.

This is a great baselayer. Just wore it for days on end on a camping / cycling trip down the california coast. Great all day and still comfortable in the sleeping bag at night. Never got that camping funk.

            Comments about Ibex Balance Tank:

Quick note: I work for Ibex.

I've been wearing wool as a baselayer under my hockey equipment since I started working for Ibex over 5 years ago. I was skeptical at first, but HOLY COW it is amazing. I originally started wearing a woolies t-shirt, but then got my hands on this product. It doesn't itch, and it doesn't stink. The sleeveless is the perfect cut to keep your trunk warm while keeping the arms & shoulders free.

Oh, and I wear this shirt under my equipment twice a week and wash them about twice a year and it is the ONLY thing in my hockey bag that doesn't stink. If you have never smelled hockey equipment, I would highly recommend that you don't.
