Comments about Ibex Woolies Bottom:
The woolies top and bottoms were my first set of wool undergarments and they are nothing short of amazing! The perform all the normal functions of a base layer exceptionally well but they don't stink. They hold their structure well and haven proven to be quite durable.

Comments about Ibex Woolies Bottom:
If pants are not enough to keep me warm Woolies bottoms are what I turn to first. I've had a pair or two in my drawers since 2002.
I took advantage of their lightweight flexibility while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and major sections of the Continental Divide Trail. Warm when wet, compact and light, they met a lot of requirements.

requested woolies for xmas and was happy someone listened. they are light, warm, comfortable as advertised, but much to my dismay they have no fly! not much fun if you wear bibs.

I have a lot of days on a pair of these. Full time ski patrol in northern Vermont, and a lot of work and recreation. It is the first thing I want to put on. They wear well, are lightweight and comfortable in a broad range of temperatures. I have most all kinds of underwear made, Patagonia, Under Armor, Roffe, Hind, EMS and Duofold. Ibex is my first and usually only choice.

Comments about Ibex Woolies Bottom:
I bought a pair of these about a year ago and while I will agree with most reviewers that they are exceptionally comfortable, warm and fit well they are also very fragile and easily torn.
The third time I put them on I was simply re-adjusting them slightly and my thumb ripped right through the fabric! Then they snagged on something inside my pants a month later and ripped again. Then I started noticing them getting runs like in panty-hose. At this point I have 3 holes and 2 runs in them!
I still use them because of how breathable and comfortable they are but I don't plan on buying another pair because I simply can't afford spending big bucks on long underwear that rips so easily.
I suspect this is because the fabric is milled so thin in order to be softer. I think if these were more durable they would be the ideal long underwear but until that happens I have to recommend people buy something more durable instead.
I adore most of my ibexwear but this seems to be a common problem in their lighter weight products. The durability of their base layers is definitely an issue they need to address.

I wear these in the oilfield at Kuparuk on Alaska's Arctic Coast under my Fire Retardant clothing. They are better than plastic underwear from a fire resistant standpoint. Warm, lightweight, comfortable - not itchy, non odor retaining. Only thing I don't like is the lack of a fly. Other than that they are wonderful. I even forgot the wash instructions and put them in the driers and they didn't shrink out of sight like you would expect from wool.

Comments about Ibex Woolies Bottom:
During the winter I literally LIVE in my Woolies. These keep me warm no matter what I am doing - just walking, snowshoeing, skiing, sitting in the office (old farm house). But they are also great as leggings or tights for under skirts and dresses - so I can keep them hidden or share them with the world - and no one seems to know I am wearing my long undies as outerwear (well now they will, but I'm comfortable with that!)

Comments about Ibex Woolies Bottom:
I procured these for a trip at sea under my water proof gear (central CA where it's always chilly out on the water). They performed wonderfully. They were warm and soft and subsequently found a place in my outdoor gear. I now wear them when it's chilly at home and I want to go out and about on those cold and drizzly days when the wind and the wet cut right through you. Nothing like high humidity and low temperatures to make you cold to the bone.
I would have loved them when I spent years in the interior of Alaska with temperatures in the winter reaching -60 and wind chills going where no human thinks about! They would have been part of a nice start at layering.
As is, I even wear them for my daily job quite often. I work in very cold labs where I have to sit for long periods. They do help a good deal and don't bunch up or make my cloths uncomfortable.
The only drawback I can find is that they do snag more easily than some of the thicker wool and because it is thin, the wear doesn't seem to be quite as long as other long undies I've had. Over all that's OK and the snags haven't caused any holes or damage (the treads haven't broken, just pulled). I'm not wearing them as pantyhose! I'd still recommend them. I'm even ordering more for next winter!
