Comments about Ibex Clive Jacket:
Doesn't seem quite windproof or warm enough. Relies strongly on under-layers.
Double zipper is very hard to join at the bottom prior to successfully zipping. On a short jacket there seems to be little utility in unzipping from the bottom. A single zipper would be much easier to use and fully adequate.
The zippers in the arm pits require experimentation to avoid accidental opening; i.e. both zippers need to be at either end of the zipper track--not at the arm pit.

Comments about Ibex Clive Jacket:
So far I've used this jacket for cross country skiing, day-hiking, and cycling in cold rain. The fabric is excellent; very weather resistant, windproof and virtually waterproof, sufficient for everything but a sustained downpour. It also breathes very well, and is warmer than most soft shells. The pit zips and two way zipper are key; they add a great deal of function and extend the comfort range. The design would be even better if they patterned it after the icefall jacket that they made a few years ago. The women's version of the Clive "Alyx" is pretty useless unless you have a VERY petite build and small arms and shoulders. I normally wear a womens 14-16 and had to get a large in the Clive, so I'd say it runs small/snug.

Comments about Ibex Clive Jacket:
I am an Ibex fan. They make great products and they stand behind their warrantee. This jacket is comfortable, versatile and durable. I look forward to the cooler weather so I can wear it.

Comments about Ibex Clive Jacket:
Don't be misled by Climawool trademark description. This is a 90% polyester garment with a partial wool lining. I was also disappointed to find that this garment was made in China. This label was cleverly placed on the underside of the sizing tag...as opposed to the 'made in usa' tag proudly displayed on the wonderful wool garments. For some reason I was expecting the same with the Clive. Nothing against China...just like avoiding the use of non-renewable resources necessary to ship this garment from the other side of the world. My agenda aside...it's a very nice, well made garment that I would recommend as a shell or moderate temp stand alone jacket.

Comments about Ibex Clive Jacket:
I own numerous IBEX pieces and up until now have been 100% satisfied. The Clive jacket did not fit me well at all. I tried a medium and a large (I'm 5'8" a 30" waist & 42" chest). The medium was too tight around the chest & shoulders and large billowed at the waist and had sleeves long enough for an ape. The Clive needs to be better insulated, it was rather cold in windy conditions @ about 45 F. On the plus side the material seemed quite durable and the jacket was well made. The Clive looks great but comes up short on function. I bought it for fall mountain biking and spring skiing and doubt it would be warm enough for either. The jacket is so light the pit zips are a redundant feature. Depending on your build you may be able to layer with the Clive and extend its usefulness. I could not and returned the Clives.

Comments about Ibex Clive Jacket:
This jacket replaced my Ibex Icefall that had finally started lo look to ratty for public consumption (though it's still my favorite MTB jacket). The Clive is warmer, provides more coverage, seems like it will be more durable, and is more refined. The fabric was stiff at first, but is breaking in nicely. So far I'm really pleased.
